Ngamba Island chimpanzee sanctuary
Ngamba Island is a chimpanzee sanctuary located on Lake Victoria in Uganda. It was established to provide a safe and natural habitat for orphaned and rescued chimpanzees. The island offers visitors the opportunity to observe and learn about these intelligent and endangered primates in a controlled environment.
The sanctuary is managed by the Chimpanzee Sanctuary and Wildlife Conservation Trust (CSWCT) and serves as an important center for chimpanzee rehabilitation, research, and education.
